GURU Words of Wisdom
The LG Dare VX9700 tries to go beyond most iPhone mimics, and beyond its touchscreen, multimedia capabilities, and 3G connectivity adds a very high quality camera and innovative user interface. If (and only if) you take the time to figure out how it works, you may be captivated by its functionality.
Product Description
At first glance, the LG Dare VX9700 looks like a slightly smaller version of all the other iPhone clones, with a nice 3" touchscreen and sleek design. It has excellent multimedia capabilities, with integration with Rhapsody in addition to Verizon's VCast store, and a decent web browser. But the most unique aspect of the Dare is its user interface software, which allows you a lot of flexibility in creating the look you want. For example you can drag icons to anywhere on the screen, rather than being limited to the standard grid layout, create your own shortcuts, and use a drawing pad to make sketches. And its 3.2 MP camera brings advanced technology usually found only on standalone cameras, such as face detection. Except for PC syncing capabilities, which are awkward at best, the LG Dare VX9700 does almost everything else well, and is a worthy challenger to the iPhone.
