GURU Words of Wisdom
Based on features alone, the current Zunes, including the 4/8/16 GB model, would be at the top of the list of MP3 players. But the decision to choose a Zune or Apple's iPod is often driven by things other than features, such as design and the software on the device and on the PC.
Product Description
The Zune 4/8/16 GB is a nicely designed, compact and thin MP3 player, with a bright 1.8" screen. The built-in wifi featured in all Zunes, including the 4/8/16 GB, comes in handy for downloading or synching wirelessly, and is very cool when used for Zune-to-Zune music sharing (though it can't be used for internet surfing). Like its key competitor, the iPod Nano, the Zune 4/8/16 GB can be used not just for music, but also for photos and videos. And in addition to the built-in wifi, the built-in FM tuner comes in handy, and can't be found on any iPod. But the decision to buy a Zune may come down to how much you like the Microsoft software on the device and on your PC, which is not quite as elegant as Apple's.
